Our Mission
Entrust Community Services is committed to enriching the lives of people with disabilities by promoting education, employment, and healthcare options that foster integration into their community.
Our Vision
Our vision is that the presence of people with disabilities is accepted by individuals, businesses and organizations as a normal and valued part of community life. We want people with disabilities and their families to have access to the necessary information and services to encourage the same quality of life available to the general community.
Our Priorities
1. Strengthen long-term employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
2. Encourage the transition into adulthood for youth with disabilities.
3. Empower families living with adult children with disabilities.
4. Build a more welcoming community for people with disabilities.
Our History
1970 – A group of parents begin “Special Projects for the Handicapped” in order to support their children with disabilities who, at the time, could not be served by the public schools.
1981 – The organization begins to focus upon vocational rehabilitation for adults with disabilities and changes the name to “Provident Industries”.
1982 – At the same time, “Horizons of Sunnyside” opens its doors to provide similar services in the Lower Yakima Valley.
1993 – Provident Industries expands its programming to include employment, education, and vocational training services. The Yakima organization is renamed “Provident Services” to reflect the change in mission.
2005 – Provident Services merges with Horizons of Sunnyside to form the Provident Horizon Group. With service centers located in Yakima, Sunnyside, Ellensburg, and the Tri-Cities area, PHG can ensure easy access to communities for people with disabilities living throughout Central Washington.
2009 – Provident Horizon Group expands its services to include opportunities for increased access to education and healthcare. These changes lead to Provident Horizon Group becoming Entrust Community Services.
