This past fall, 10 cyclists from across the United States were chosen to join the Special Olympics Team USA and compete in the 2015 World Games to be held in Los Angeles from July 25 – August 2. One of the cyclists chosen is our very own Jamie, who graduated from the Project SEARCH program in 2012.

“Being on Special Olympics Team USA has helped with my independence. I have made friends for life. It has introduced me to new activities,” says Jamie. “I enjoy meeting and making new friends.”

With Entrust Community Services, Jamie was able to learn how to do a variety of jobs, such as working in a kitchen doing food prep and food service, along with recycling and janitorial services.

Keeley McCray, our Youth Transition Services Team Lead, said that Jamie’s “attitude was good and she was very professional.” While studying to receive her Food Handler’s Permit, Jamie was “engaged and interested in the information.” We were very thankful to have Jamie involved in our community!

As Jamie trains hard for this wonderful opportunity to represent the U.S.A. at the 2015 World Games, we wish her all the best! Good luck Jamie!
